Fire and Hammer

Jeremiah 23:29

Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

FLAME of truth streams from the mouth of God,

IGNITING hearts that once were frozen in sin,

REFINING souls like gold within the furnace,

EXPOSING all that pride can hide within.

A living Word that cannot be contained,

NO human strength can blunt its piercing edge,

DIVIDING bone and marrow, it speaks and all creation trembles.

HELD by heaven, striking hearts hard as stone,

AWAKING life where deadness once ruled,

MERCY resounds with each hammer blow,

MAKING a path for grace and truth to flow.

EVERY proud refuge shattered by Word’s force,

REVEALING Christ — the Living Word Who saves and restores.
