Drenching the drought

Are there any among the false gods of the nations that can bring rain?

Or can the heavens give showers?

Are you not he, O LORD our God?

We set our hope on you,

for you do all these things.

Jeremiah 14:22

The land dries up

grass withers

ground cracks

crops fail

rivers dwindle

wells empty

and in our thirst

we know

You have withdrawn

the mercy of Your rain

We cry out

souls parched

lives cracked

hope fallen

resources exhausted

hearts broken

and in our need

we acknowledge

we have gone far

away from Your mercy again

You hear us repent

and unleash

pouring rain

restoring life

flowing water

filling up

what once was empty

and in our gratitude

we praise

You Who give

grace in healing streams
