When the winds blew

and the waves raised

I saw You

yet I was afraid

You were drawing near

to comfort me

but in my fear

I could not see

Still You reached out Your hand

as You drew nigh

I rose to stand

as You said “It is I”.

“Take heart,” You spoke

to my trembling soul

into my stormy boat

Your peace did flow

The winds ceased

the waves did too

as Your great peace

filled me through

No longer afraid

I trust in You

for You have said

You’ll see me safely through.
