Yearning

For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:8

When I am not with you

i definitely miss you

separated as we must be

circumstances do not have me free

and yet there is a longing

to return to the belonging

of fellowship as one

because of what Christ has done

will bind our hearts together

in His church forever

My soul desires to live

with those whom Christ forgives

The affection of our Lord

the direction of God’s Word

binds us to one another

makes us sisters and brothers

the gospel binds us near

to the heart of God so clear

His truth sets us free

we are one through eternity

so I long to be with you

I yearn to worship beside you

one day before God’s throne

finally together we will be His own
